May in the Smokies 2013

May is full of some excellent upcoming events that, if you're hoping to do a visit to the Smokies this month, you should definitely plan to check out.

If you come early in the month, you'll have the Dolly Parton Homecoming Parade in Pigeon Forge to look forward to. It's a tradition in Pigeon Forge that Dolly Parton returns to marshall a grand Spring parade down the main road of the city and it's every bit as much fun as one can hope for. Come later in the month and you can enjoy not one, but two separately held "BBQ and Bluegrass" events in Sevier County. The first is a major festival held in downtown Sevierville around the courthouse with some of the best meats you will ever taste in your life with the best Bluegrass groups touring today playing in the backdrop. The Sevierville "Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass" is May 17th and 18th for 2013. You can see more information on that at www.bloominbbq.com.

The second is a BBQ and Bluegrass led by none other than Dollywood itself, and if you can imagine a near non-stop rotation of awesome southern performers and amazing chicken, beef and pork, all with the Dollywood seal of quality on them, you have a pretty good idea how much you'll be able to enjoy it.
